A clipping from my first year at YRGO
1st schoolyear almost done. From not knowing much of Archviz to where I am now. I hope you will enjoy!
CHAIRPROJECT
In one of our first projects we were asked to model a chair from scratch. We got to use only pictures as reference, no metrics or sketches, and i chose a classic - the BAUHAUS ARMCHAIR MS65.
I wanted to create a simplistic and minimalistic environment. To give it a personal touch I gave it a leather material with a rusty feel!
HOTEL OKINAWA
This was our first big group project which we called the Hotelproject. We all got assigned a place in the world where we were supposed to build the hotel and integrate the culture and environment of the actual place. We got assigned Okinawa, which is like Japans Hawaii.
I got assigned the "relax room" - where we wanted to create something relaxing with a big touch of Japan. Come here for some yoga, a tea ceremony or massage!
Here's the pictures my friends did, from left to right - the lobby by Sara Larsson, the restaurant by John Kristiansson and the hotelroom by Karin Mossbrandt. What I really liked about this project was how we worked so well together and helped each other - so we have a touch of everybody in each individual photo!
FROM SKETCH TO PICTURE
In another project we got to work with Railclone and Forestpack for the first time. It was a fun project with a lot of trail and errors on the way. This was our first exterior project. My thought with the sketch we got was to create an exterior that correlaterd with the closeness of nature - a younger couple having some of their friends over for the first time since moving in.
MATTEPAINTING
This was our first big Mattepainting project. We only did a quick scene in 3ds Max without any materials. We then put everything together in photoshop - materials, background, props etc. We were allowed to be as creative as we wanted to do. Realistic or fiction didn't matter!
I got inspired by the movies Mad Max and the Fifth Element in creating this scene. You can also see the process in the video!
URBAN ARCHITECTURE
In this project we got to work with the studio Motiv and architecture firm NBBJ. We got to work with a project that they had in Seattle, USA.
I got inspired by the business side of Seattle - mainly Microsoft and it's co-founder Paul Allen which has influenced the city a lot. I also wanted to incorporate the similar weather we have here in Sweden to the weather in Seattle. Thus this warmer spring day before the leaves on the trees have started to grow. In the spring both here in Sweden and Seattle the weather can one day be warm as a summer day and the next cold as in the winter. Hope you will like the picture!
