Welcome to my entry for the rookies 2021. I have chosen four of my personal favorite personal projects from the past six months. I have tried to break down my thoughts and goals from each project and I hope you enjoy taking a look through my journey as an artist

Remington standard Typewriter 1926

This was i great challenge that I gave to myself, one that helped me work on my topology and polycount optimization. While still being able to create a highly detailed 3D game asset with a lot of character and story.

The Bat Tumbler / Batmobile

With most of my personal projects, I like to give myself some sort of challenge to my current skill set and see where my strengths and weeknesses are.

The Batmobile was a really interesting test of skill. The complex shape, and intricate details really pushed my abilities at the time; while forcing me to learn something new.

Matilda / Heckler & Koch VP70M

one of my biggest weaknesses that I have noticed in my work is guns, it's something that I have been working on and feel I have improved on fairly quickly.

My favourite part of this project was the texturing, I really enjoyed adding all the little scuffs and dings to the surface. since this was based on the starting weapon from Resident Evil 2; I wanted to evoke a similar feeling as the game. by adding spots of blood to Gun and adding the magazine and bullets to the scene; I was attempting to replicate that feeling making it to the next save room after a difficult boss battle and seeing how very little ammo you have left.

Ecto-1

This was a Project that I was wanting to do for a very long time but just didn't feel confident enough to attempt it. creating cars in 3D is pretty challenging, and this huge 1959 Cadillac was no exception.

the most difficult part of this project was getting the balance of getting a good amount of detail without going over board with the poly count; after  all the aim of this project was to keep it game  ready. and although i think looking back on it i could've been a little less tight in certain areas, a feel i did a pretty good job capturing the overall feel of Ecto-1.

there are acouple of things that i'd would like to adjust one day, espesially the UVs; I feel that I could've squeezed more resolution out of the textures if i optimize the a little more. but ultimitly i had a lot of fun recreating this part of my childhood and i feel i've come out of it with a lot of new insights for ruture projects.
