SCI-FI ALLEYWAY

CONCEPT - LAYOUT - LIGHT - RENDER - PAINT - PROJECT - COMP

This was my second to last demo reel project at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Stock footage came from VideoBlocks and was tracked with PFTrack. Background matte painting created in Photoshop using Jonas Ronnegard's Ref Pack - Japanese Streets as well as other images from Pexels. It was then taken into Maya and modeled using camera projection to get proper parallax. The drone base model came from Siamak Tavakoli and was textured and rendered with Maya Redshift. Pepsi sign plate taken by mrhayata. Graffiti elements added from SirCharles.DESIGN's URBAN GRAFFITI pack. All layers were camera projected and composited in Nuke.

ROBOT JUNKYARD

CONCEPT - LAYOUT - LIGHT - RENDER - PAINT - PROJECT - COMP

This is my first Demo Reel project at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Stock footage in the mid ground came from VideoBlocks and was tracked with PFTrack. Then a raw 3D scan of scrap metal by Renafox was combined with a robot asset I created before for a different project in Maya. After that I rendered out buildings from Kitbash3D using Redshift and matte painted over them, then camera projected them on cards in Nuke. Lastly compositing was also done in Nuke with assistance by Miguel Ortega.

VOYAGER 1 MATTE PAINTING

CONCEPT - LAYOUT - TEXTURE - RENDER - PAINT - PROJECT - COMP

This was my final for matte painting class at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. World Machine was used to get a rough layout of the foreground terrain. The Voyager 1 model came from Nasa 3D Resources. It was then rendered in Vray and brought to Photoshop. Many images from Pexels and other places were used to matte paint the foliage. Exported layers were camera projected and composited in Nuke.

WESTERN HOUDINI LANDSCAPE

TERRAIN - LAYOUT - TEXTURE - RENDER - COMP

This was my final for Houdini 1 class at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. The landscape was created with Houdini terrain tools. Megascan and Speedtree assets from Gnomon’s 3D library was used to populate the scene. Atmospheric VDBs were scattered around the scene and everything was rendered with Houdini Redshift. Image element of cowboy by cgpgrey. Image element of horse from pxhere. Wolf pack element by John Fisher. All layers composited in Nuke with assistance by Miguel Ortega. Original concept created by Jeremy Paillotin.

This is a CG environment final created by me using V-Ray for Texturing & Shading 2 class at Gnomon School of Visual Effects.

WATER BUFFALO

CONCEPT - LAYOUT - TEXTURE - RENDER - PAINT - COMP

This was my last demo reel project at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Stock footage came from VideoBlocks. The city models came from Kitbash3D except one that I modeled and duplicated. Textured and rendered in Maya Redshift, then matte painted in Photoshop. Water reflections, flying cars and other compositing done in Nuke.

MOUNTAIN CASTLE

CONCEPT - LAYOUT - TEXTURE - RENDER - PAINT - PROJECT - COMP

This was my second project for Demo Reel class at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Stock footage came from VideoBlocks and was tracked with PFTrack. Castle and assets laid out using Jean-Francois Liesenborghs' Castle kit. Rendered in Maya Redshift and matte painted in Photoshop. Statue comes from Three D Scans and Sheep come from the Unreal Marketplace. All layers camera projected and composited in Nuke.

 UNREAL GAS STATION

CONCEPT - MODEL - TEXTURE - BAKE - LIGHT - RENDER

This project started in my last term in Props for Games class at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Rendered in-game with Unreal Engine 4. Modeled in Maya and textured with Substance Painter. Window textures from Advanced Glass Material Pack by Michal Orzelek. Background trees from Modern City Megapack by Leartes Studios. Wireframe render made with Maya Redshift.
