About this project

This was an IP that I worked on in my final semester at The One Academy. The idea behind the concept is that in a land that flourishes around the world tree, the Yggdrasil, the high priestess has long turned to darker paths. A young acolyte stumbles upon the secret which keeps the Yggdrasil healthy and attempts to escape his fate, no matter the cost.

The inspiration behind this lineup is mostly from Celtic and Norse mythology, and the idea of sacrifice somehow relates to a book called 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas'. The story is about an entire city so beautiful and peaceful that it seems unreal, but there's a catch. That is that one child must always be suffering for the sake of that happiness.

There are those that grow up to find out about this, and choose to walk away from their paradise of a city, but no one knows where they go, or where they will end up.

About this project

This was a part of a group project I worked on in my third year at The One Academy. It's basis is about an orphaned boy, different from all others in this land, who stumbles upon the darkness that hides within the city and those who govern it.

In this story, everyone has star cores for hearts, that can be used for magic as well. Chen has a defective star that doesn't light up. While escaping an angry mob that pursues him for his defect, he finds an underground secret, a place where citizens have their cores extracted and used for the personal gains of the government.

Xing is Chen's mother, who tried to protect Chen by sealing his star while still an infant, due to its unusual strength and power. She was a kind woman, who just wanted her child to be safe. However, in doing so, she lost her life at the hands of her power-hungry husband.

In this world, there are 4 clans, each with their own patron deities. One of the clans is under the Vermillion bird.

The Vermillion Bird clan is a clan well known for their artistry and musicality. Therefore, a lot of their instruments and crafts are modelled after the deity.

About this project

An IP developed around the idea of travelling doctors. I had chosen a Chinese theme to expand on but originally, I had wanted to create a warrior instead. However, after many drafts and sketches, I decided that a healer was more interesting than a fighter.

About this project

These concepts were developed in class when we were tasked to create a character based on some themes given to us. I had picked Native American and went along with an idea to create a young musician.

Paintings done in my own time

I absolutely love to paint portraits in my free time. Something about the human features are just so beautiful and I also feel the need to practice when I see a photograph with particularly gorgeous lighting and composition. I personally find it extremely comforting and relaxing.
