Demoreel

Hi! This is my Demoreel, the collection of the majority of my shots I created in my 1 year of schooling in 2020. In all of them I was responsible for the Animation, Layout and Storyboarding. In my 1 year of schooling, I learnt much about Animating and I am eager to continue honing my craft and produce quality animation in a professional environment.

A huge shoutout to my Lecturer, Justin Kwek for his continued mentorship and guidance, and the support of my fellow classmates and animator!

Spiderman - Dive!

The culmination of my Advanced Body Mechanics classes. The assignment was to create a Parkour Shot and I wanted to push for something especially energetic and exciting, and there’s few more exciting then the Web-Head himself The Storyboarding for the entire Sequence and the Camera and Layout was the main obstacle I had to face and I wanted my shot to be dynamic and fast-paced, and still have strong visual clarity in the character’s motion. Looking back, this remains one of my favourite shots I did.

Project Orion

1 Month before my Graduation, a few of my classmates were eager to collaborate and we ended up creating this anime-inspired action sequence. Between editing our demo reels and polishing older shots, It was a challenge to ensure we could hit our deadlines and still produce high-quality animation. I was in charge of storyboarding and layout, and directed and delegated shots with my fellow classmate. We regularly discussed our shots and how we could improve our work.

A lot of hard--earned wisdom was gained from this collaboration, and I’m proud of theeffort everyone put in it.

Is there alcohol in this?

My first foray into lip sync in Animation. The Hurdle I faced here was creating appealing and clear facial shapes and good storytelling poses. I wanted to convey the initial dismay contrasting with her tipsy demeanour the following moment. Special Thanks to my classmate and friend, Low Xin Yi for lighting this shot for me.
