New Normal Furniture Design

To design a new normal furniture design that is able to practice social distancing within an office space which needs to occupy a number of people. A furniture that can help to ensure hygiene and safety of a person while at the same time does not affect the interaction of people and efficiency of work.

The concept of my design is inspired by a social distancing a furniture designed by OITO that is called the C-19 bench system. Created to fit the new lifestyle we all are bound to follow indefinitely from now on, the C-19 bench system comes to reinforce the idea of safe social distancing without compromising our daily lives. From this, I came up a idea which is similar which is a bench that occupies two person with a perspex in the middle working as seperation panels. Taking the design of the bench, it can be seperated into to two parts to work as individual stools. Other than that, the bench can be flipped all over and extend its height with the seats of the bench folding over, turning it into a wide working desk. The perspex panels placed horizontally as partitions of the desk.

The singularity of it is the use of the materials where copper is used in parts of the design, as from research done copper is known to be the least time that the Covid virus can last. Besides that are its easy to clean and sanitise materials, and also its one piece but multiple usage design
