In 2150, a military experimenting facility had a malfunction within one of their top-secret portal facilities early in the morning. You have been instructed to retrieve the confidential information regarding the testing as well as to conduct an observation of the scene to see if it is salvageable.
An interactive exploration of a destroyed portal facility tied together with diegetic storytelling through props and set dressing.
As a team of 10, we had 12 weeks to create a futuristic themed environment we had 2 weeks of pre-production where we came up with various ideas through research. Over 11 weeks of production time we were to create an environment that included a rich mix of materials and diegetic storytelling. Receiving mentorship from Cloud Imperial.
During our research, we focused on immersion in a believable space. Finding a great reference location of a portal room in Big Hero 6. Using this site as a reference we were able to not only be inspired by how the space was set dressed but how to take it from stylized to realistic.
The mood and atmosphere we wanted to create were very similar to the film Big Hero 6. By using games such as "The Division" by Ubisoft, we aimed for this to be the quality benchmark to work towards.

Below you can find some of our key art bible pages outlining what we were aiming for in Singularity. As well as visual inspiration for the portal itself.
