Engineer from Prometheus by Jason Foo
Hi everyone, this is my latest project i've been working on. I'm inspired by the biomechanical design of H.R. Giger, that's why i decided to sculpt it for my graduation showreel. i use Zbrush for sculpting and texturing, Maya for retopologizing and uv maps, Vray next to render and finally photoshop to compose it.
I always love the design of the late H.R Giger. When i first saw the Engineer in the film Prometheus, i instantly fell in love with it's appearance. It look menacing but elegant at the same time. So, i decided to sculpt it for my graduation showreel and as a tribute to Mr. Giger.
I had struggled to get it's facial structure and proportion right due the limited source materials i got in the film and the internet. It took me almost a week to sculpt it's head alone but the whole body only took me 1.5 week to complete. Sadly, i didn't recorded any progress of sculpting of its body.
I used Vray next to render and i composed it in photoshop later. Below are some of the final renders of the Engineer.
This is the turntable of the Engineer captured in Zbrush. Thank you so much for taking your time to scroll until the end of my presentation. I hope you guys enjoyed it and have a nice day!
