“Creature FX Lead Maia Neubig started her career in visual effects after graduating from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and from Vancouver Film School with a Certificate in VFX and Animation with a focus in Modeling and Texturing.

It was during her time at Vancouver Film School that Maia taught herself rigging, and decided to pursue it as a starting point in her career by landing a rigging internship at Digital Domain in Vancouver. That internship soon turned into a position as a Junior Rigger / Creature FX artist at the studio.

After leaving Digital Domain, Maia worked at Disney for four years, contributing to such films as Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, and Moana. She left Disney to move back to Vancouver where she worked at Moving Pictures Company and Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Most recently, Maia has brought her expertise in Creature FX to Image Engine where she has contributed to such projects as Game of Thrones Season 7 and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.”
