Starting out as a Rotoscope Artist, Paul’s goal was to one day become an animator after watching ‘The Frighteners’ ‘Reaper’ come to life through the hands of the animation team.

After four years in Weta Digital’s creatures department, where he helped develop skeleton and muscle designs for Gollum and the Troll on The Lord of the Rings, Paul was given an opportunity on to move in to animation, and hasn’t looked back. Helping to animate Gollum, Fellbeasts and Trolls in The Lord Of the Rings: The Two Towers, he went on to lead sequences in The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King and King Kong.

He has worked as an Animation Supervisor on a host of critically-acclaimed films including The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, Iron Man 3, the Planet of the Apes trilogy, Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book. His recent work on Avengers: Infinity War earned him a Visual Effects Society Award for Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature for Thanos. He is currently working on Ang Lee’s Gemini Man.
