Rookie of the Year – Winner
Peyton Varney

I have always played video games growing up but it was on the back of my mind as an actual career that I would go into. I was an artist at heart, always loved sculpting and painting and that played into a lot of hobbies like models trains and miniature building. As a career I knew what inspired me the most was being able to create something and bring it to life.

Rookie of the Year – Runner Up
Abigail Jameson

Hi, my name is Abigail Jameson I’m 20 years old, and I’m currently finishing my final year of a BA in Computer Games Art at Teesside University (UK). I come from a fine art background, with skills in traditional drawing and painting. However, I’ve always had a love for games and was determined to combine my love and appreciation for art and video games, which is why i was overjoyed when i found that i could study games at university.

I am a 21 years old environment artist from Belgium. I recently finished my studies game graphics at Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment. I used to draw a lot and I started my studies thinking I would become a concept artist, but I soon realised that that was not for me and I found that my real passion is creating 3D environments. While I am able to make realistic work, I prefer to work stylized. I’m the happiest when I’m  making cute and cozy stylized scenes, preferably hand painted.
