Rookie of the Year – Winner
Lanli Su

My zest of life thrives on opportunities to collaborate and share that passion with others while achieving a larger goal. I am currently cultivating my skills at Gnomon to pursue a career in FX and/or software development. I practice photography while I frequently host and conduct workshops with the goal of mastering digital imaging.

Rookie of the Year – Runner Up
Lola Rossi

I am a french, Berlin-based photographer, digital compositor and film maker. I did a four years curriculum at ArtFX, one of the first visual effects school in Europe and completed my studies with a graduation film: IN:SIGHT. I’m exploring different themes with a cinematographic approach and mixed references from the 80’s, the femmes fatales and anticipation movies. I’m trying to find a way to define the place of memories in our new digital world. For that, I’m using both photography, film making and the skills I learnt as a digital compositor student.

Judges Comments

The way those artists captured moments, people and nature is inspiring to any visual artist.

It is nice to see the broad variety of work present in this year’s list of finalists. These entrants all have a good sense of direction in their work.
Tintin Hedberg
There is a presence of the artists themselves in the works as they clearly have considered their composition and colour palette as well as lighting.
Tintin Hedberg
All three of these artists put their own mark on their photos. Their work was unique and refreshing.

I’m a Industrial Design student (2nd grade), which means that I can do anything, not because of what I’m studying but of how I feel when I create things.
